New wordpress plugin published

I've just released a small wordpress plugin for showing paypal funds received vs a target amount (with time periods, so, monthly for instance).

You can find it here

  1. Hey, i’m trying to use this pluggin but for some reason it won’t pull out the data from paypal.
Made up a fresh Business Account on paypal, got the API signature, added a donate button inside the text after widget area.

    Any hints would help .
    Thanks

  2. Please make sure you are using version 1.2.4, and please tell me exactly what is going wrong. In 1.2.4, you have a debug console in the admin area under tools that is worth taking a look at.

  3. i am using 1.2.4 but i don’t have that much experience with php or the paypal framework.

  4. Hi! I like the donation meter widget so far, one issue, I wish the beginning date could be more targeted than a month. I started my donation drive on the 29th of the month and I don’t think it’s registering all of the donations. (I haven’t done the math though)
Also, is there a shortcode for putting the meter on my blog posts, too? I’d like the meter to go everywhere the donation button goes.
    thanks again!

  5. One feature request that has been made is setting the start date of your “month” – so your “month” goes from the 15th to the next 15th, for example. It’s something I plan on doing soon.

Otherwise, if you just want to show things older then one month, choose a different time period.

  6. Hello,

Can you tell me whether this plugin is still working with the most recent release of WordPress? I’m having some difficulty under WP 3.2.1. I read the readme and it refers to a “Widgets” menu which no longer seems to exist. I’ve tried the “Tools” menu and I do see the plugin name under there but when I click it, the page says only “No configured widgets”.

Can you help me get this set up? I’m eager to start a donation page for my sick daughter and your paypal meter is the only competent seeming one one I’ve found.

  7. OK please disregard my last comment. I found the Widgets menu and apologize for posting so quickly.

My new issue is that a very large target amount (tens of thousands) will cause the progress bar to extend out of the right side of the widget area and disappear, or at least, I’m guessing that my target amount is the issue.

Is there a way to correct this aside from reducing the target donation amount? I’d expect the progress bar to be a fixed width, with proportional filling regardless of amount. Maybe I’ve done something wrong?

Thank you in advance for any help.

  8. OK it’s not the amount. Even if I change the target to be much smaller, the progress bar still extends beyond the right boundary of the plugin and the rounded end-cap on the right side is just missing. Can you help me fix it? I would appreciate it a great deal.

I’m so sorry for spamming your comment section… :(

  9. the “Widgets” menu is under the “Appearance” menu.
